2012 Anti-Bullying School Assembly – Wheels of Freestyle Go “BIG” BMX Thrill Show!

As the new year gets underway and schools have expressed a strong desire to educate kids on the dangers of being a bully and being bullied, Wheels of Freestyle has responded with our new Anti-Bullying themed BMX Bike Show.  For over 16 years our program has focused on themes such as drug prevention, violence prevention, bicycle safety, helmet-wear and positive success messages.  Schools have tailored the program by requesting an emphasis on the theme of their choice, often bicycle safety in the spring, and drug prevention in the fall.  But now, schools have the new option of utilizing our powerfully unforgettable BMX Bike Show to deliver powerful anti-bullying messages, delivered by pro athletes your students will respect, look up to, and will want to emulate.  This is the secret to the success of the program regardless of the theme, the power of social proof, linking what is “cool” with a message this is “cool”.

Let’s face it, kids will not stop bullying until they understand and feel a deep emotional connection to something positive.  When a child begins to dream of a goal or achievement that becomes a passion, his or her desire to being a bully is re-targeted into positive energy. As pro BMX athletes, we have had a unique ability to connect with kids as they are treated to a LIVE performance, a privilege that comes with the flexibility of our sport to be demonstrated anywhere, anytime.  An NBA or NFL player can bring a great message, but they cannot perform LIVE in a meaningful way.  The impact can be excellent, but it cannot match the impact of a LIVE full action performance, featuring the actual maneuvers and stunts the BMX Athletes perform daily in practice and in major contests.
